Does your Mum text?
Does  your Mum drive ?
Your Mum probably texts and drives!!
Hello. My name is Robert
 Coutanche-Gould. I am going to
talk to you today about texting
 and driving.
It was made illegal to text and drive
on November 1st 2009.
You can NOT now use a hand
held phone or text while driving
and if you get caught you will
be fined $80 and lose 20
demerit points.
That has saved
many lives but heaps of people
still break this law.
New Zealand is the worst
Country in the world
according to the latest survey.
Two thirds of young people
frequently admit texting while
they are driving.
These young people aged 25-39
are the worst offending age group.
Women are more likely to use
their cell phones behind the wheel
than men. They lose concentration
 causing crashes and accidents.
They weave on the road
When the traffic lights turn green
They sit and hold the traffic up.
They drive too slow
They lose concentration on the road
They break the law
They are dangerous
They run over people
They crash!!
We live in an age when
being constantly connected
Is the norm. More and
More of us have
Smartphones and find
It hard to switch off,
even for a minute.
New Zealand drivers
need to turn off their
phones or put them onto
silent, keep it out of reach
and NEVER try to multi-task
at the wheel.
Driving needs your full attention.
No text message, phone call
or conversation which
distracts a driver is worth dying
for or risking a life long injury.

These drivers are beside you now

THEY ARE KILLERS!!!!!
